POLICE WERE called out to Thorne Close, near Rogers Road, E16 at just after 2am on Saturday morning as reports came in that someone had been shot. Police and the London Ambulance Service attended.
They found two young men, aged 25 and 27, both of whom had gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospital for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening.
The shootings are being investigated by the Specialist Crime Command. Police have confirmed that there will additional police patrolling in the area over the coming days.
Detective Inspector Iain Wallace appealed for witnesses to come forward, saying, “I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area in the early hours of Saturday – who heard or saw anything suspicious – to come forward. […] I would ask that you check any dash cam footage to see if you captured the shooting.”
