NHS USERS in Tower Hamlets have a new Public Governor representing them on the East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT). Rofikul Islam was elected by registered members of the Trust and is one of three Governors who represent Tower Hamlets.

Upon his appointment Rofikul said, “This is an exciting opportunity for me to play a part in the East London Foundation Trust. I am a strong believer in giving something back and feel this is a good opportunity to get involved. As a resident of Tower Hamlets, I am thrilled to be able to represent a constituency which is very close to my heart.”

The East London Foundation Trust provides a wide range of NHS community and inpatient services to children, young people, adults of working age, older adults and forensic services to the City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedfordshire and Luton.

The Council of Governors is made up of 45 Governors elected by Trust members and staff others appointed by partner organisations.  These Governors represent the views of their members and work with the Trust at a strategic level to help plan and shape its services.
